The Pioneer Hybrid Belt is now born… and it is like a traditional nylon belt and a Pioneer leather belt had a baby. The Hybrid has the ease of use/comfort of a Velcro™ belt, and the support that is similar to a leather belt which is definitely a win-win. The idea behind this belt was to offer a product that is a bit less specific to just powerlifting. This belt is geared toward cross-training, Olympic lifting, general training, and strongman! That said, it can definitely still be used for powerlifting style training, but cannot be used for competition. These are 4″ all the way around, and do have an overlap in the front for you to brace against.

Just wanna say I’ve been waiting for a belt like this to exist! I’m in love with my belt. This is by far 1000x better than any typical nylon belt. All bs aside my Oly lifts have gone up because this belt.I trust my hybrid belt when I’m lifting heavy. This belt is my second pioneer belt in my gym bag. I went with a solid lever belt as my first which works perfect for my heavy days when deadlifting and squatting. I decided to purchase this hybrid belt for my lighter and more mobile workouts and I could not be any happier!
It is really comfortable and gives just about the same amount of support as my lever belt. Absolutely perfect is the only way I can describe this belt. The velcro is really heavy duty and the color is perfect. I know they’re coming out with more color combos so there may need to be a third belt in my gym bag!

The wide velcro strap makes the belt feel very secure when fastened. The Velcro strap also wraps around the entire belt rather than stitching 2 shorts pieces on each end like my old “non-pioneer” soft belt. The quality of this hybrid belt matches that of my 4″ – 13mm prong belt.

My 1st pioneer belt. Easy 5/5. I’ve used about a dozen or so velcro style belts and this easily tops the list. Heavy front and back squats feel way more stable and I definitely notice I’m able to be more upright and tight on clean and jerks. The design is great too. When customization comes out I know I’ll be ordering another.

Fantastic. I have a traditional prong belt but I’m pretty lean and find it tough to get to a fit I like, and hate messing with the prong buckle between sets. I’ve gone for lesser nylon belt in many cases for easy on and off, though it had less support.
No more compromise with this belt. Easy on/off and adjustability with more backbone in the belt. Believer in my first session with this thing.

This belt is somehow both rigid and stiff enough to do what it’s supposed to do, while also still being flexible and not as harsh on my sides. I love this thing. Phenomenal build quality with the strap sewn thru the entire belt making this thing durable af. I actually prefer this for my body type (rather thin and short) for powerlifting than leather ones which can dig into me a little too much.

This is a very nice belt. It is very well made, quality materials, but it has one major flaw, sizing. I’m in between sizes I measure my waist around 35-36 inches depending on the time of day. I called and asked for a sizing recommendation, they suggested a medium so that’s what I ordered. I received it, and it was way too small I could barely get the velcro to attach. I exchanged for a large and got it a few days ago. This belt is way too big. For me to get the belt on tight I have to tighten it all the to the end of the velcro and even then it still doesn’t really feel tight enough. I really like this belt. Just wish it fit better.

I LOVE this belt. I have had my pioneer cut 10mm power belt for a little over 2 years. Decided to compete in a BBing show and unfortunately it no longer fit. Went with this as a secondary training belt and it is by far the best training belt I’ve used. This isn’t your average nylon belt. Much more support, but still with all the comfort. Top notch.

I ordered a large because of the sizing on the site. I’m having the same issue as another person. I’m normally a 35-36″ waist and thought the medium would be too small so I ordered the large and I have to cinch the velcro the ENTIRE length for it to be semi-tight on my waist. It seems as if a medium would be too small based on the measurements they have listed. If they could fix this issue then this belt would be the best on the market.

I love this belt and the extra little stability that the leather inside provides.
If you’re reading this Matt Hadden, or anyone else in change of the Pioneer belt design, I can suggest 2 improvements, and a future belt option.
1, since the leather overlaps, put Velcro inside lip of the leather where it overlaps, so you can wear the belt around easier between sets without it being tight. An example of this is on the Schiek belt.
2. The other thing I suggest is changing the buckle design to one that has the moving plastic piece inside, like the 2Pood belt (that they call the WOD Clamp) 2pood stole this from schiek when their patent ran out, which means you can put it on the this belt too.
Last suggestion is to possibly have an even more stiff hybrid belt option, with the suggested performance alterations from above to make it better.

The belt is super duper cool, however I am having the same issues the other 35-36 inch people are having with the large size feeling too loose!
Ugh… I’ll probably try ordering the medium belt even and selling the large on eBay or something cause you can’t return it if you get the wrong size.
Maybe the belts should have a bit more of an overlap in sizes if the in-between sizes are having issues.
Thank Pioneer for being awesome! I am just a lil sad the fit isn’t very good…

This belt is awesome. I have had it about 9 months and initially had to get used to it being 4” all around but that only took about a week. This belt is extremely high quality. The Velcro used is fantastic. Can quickly adjust this belt when I really want to get to a tight fit and then loosen after set. I have seen no wear issues with the velcro and I use this belt 6 days a week. The belt itself is very comfortable and again no signs of wear after 9 months of heavy use.

Just got my Pioneer 4″ Hybrid belt today & it feels super premium and well made. I was unsure about the sizing after measuring around my belly button being 40 inches on the dot. I didn’t want to go X-Large, and it be too big or get a Large and it be too small so after reading other reviews I went with a Large and I couldn’t ask for a more perfect fit with still being able to go down a little in size or up depending on what I’m trying to accomplish. The Velcro seems very strong & overall I am very happy with my purchase & that I went with this company. I would definitely recommend to friends & family. The belt came via Fed ex right on time, well packaged, & I even got a sticker. Lets Gooooo!!!

Learned about this company from Untamed Strength channel and can honestly say this is one of the best belts I’ve owned. The hybrid is a perfect in between and is way better then any other nylon belt design on the market. This being in part to the full leather insert. The buckle is plenty heavy duty and I see the velcro lasting a long time. I have already used it plenty for heavy lifts and had no worries about it slipping its grip and giving out. My only note is on sizing, I am also in between sizes for a large and medium measuring a 34-35. When I reached out for better guidance they were fast in response and clearing it up. My suggestion is if you measure in this area go with a Medium, it has plenty to still cinch down and plenty of velcro left if you gain weight. Great product and service from Pioneer!

Great Belt: Easy on, easy off, and tons of support. It is extremely comfortable, even during heavy functional training work with lots of movement. I have a 34 inch waist and the medium fits perfect for me. I’d imagine if you had up to 37 inches, I’d go Medium (IMO). Had this belt for over 3 years with heavy use and still going strong (Velcro & stitching is very high quality)

I was passing through Coleman on a road trip and decided to stop by the shop. The staff was awesome and gave us a short tour of the facility while they put some new holes in my wife’s gun belt. I decided to purchase a hybrid belt and the nice woman (don’t recall her name) helped me find the size I needed. The belt is great and more supportive than I expected. Sometimes my 13mm belt is a bit much for higher rep sets, I would highly recommend this
